Takapu Street wastewater upgrade project

Project overview

We are upgrading the wastewater infrastructure along Takapu Street, Alderman Drive, Edmonton Road and the carpark area shown on the map below.

This work involves replacing and installing new wastewater pipelines, including across key roads and working in the carpark area to improve the overall wastewater system. These upgrades are crucial to meet future demands, ensure long-term reliability, and reduce the risk of wastewater overflows in the area.

How will this work affect you?

Night works

9pm-5.30am, Monday 27 January - Sunday 2 February

Along Alderman Drive

• There will be temporary half-road closures in place during these works

• Steel plates will cover open trenches during the day to allow safe vehicle passage.

Day works

7am-6pm, Monday 3 February - Sunday 20 April (weekdays)

In the carpark of 14 Edmonton Road and along a section of Edmonton Road and Takapu Street

• Saturday works are yet to be confirmed

• Traffic management will be in place for both vehicles and pedestrians and has been approved by Auckland Transport. Clear signage and detours will guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around the work zones.

• The work may generate some noise, but please be assured that it will be kept to a minimum and within levels approved by Auckland Council.

• As the team progresses along the roads there may be some intermittent disruption for vehicles wanting to access properties. If this is a concern, please communicate with our crews in advance so we can coordinate with you.
