Current and upcoming works

November

  • Reinstatement and landscaping works in Point England Reserve will be completed by 15 November.

February

  • Demolition of the old pump station has been unexpectedly delayed, so the construction team and equipment will be returning in February to continue this work.
  • We will be reinstating the car park area and landscaping. This work is expected to take two to three months to complete. It will not affect the public footpath or access in the reserve, however, for the safety of the public we will be leaving the temporary fences in place. Once our work is complete, we will remove all fencing.

How will the demolition works affect you?

Noise

  • The work to demolish the old pump station will be undertaken during daylight hours, however, there may be some noise disturbances as there will be additional trucks onsite to remove the rubble.

Project overview

We are demolishing the old pump station and installing new pumps to complete this part of the project which stalled in 2022 due to faulty equipment. We have upgraded the existing wastewater infrastructure that was primarily built in the 1950s and 60s and are now in a position to complete the project which responds to growth and will provide a resilient long-term wastewater solution.

Key benefits

  • Reduced impact on the environment
  • Ease of operational and maintenance requirements
  • Better health and safety outcomes
